Wine Center offers the Diploma Introductory class for Unit 1 & 2 twice a
year, in the spring and fall. The Unit 2 Exam is a gateway exam to the rest of
the program and must be attempted before any other Units in Diploma, including the Unit 1 examinations (see Coursework Assignments and the Unit 1 Assignment FAQ).

Not included in the kit are the two required texts for
Unit 2; the Oxford
Companion to Wine 3rd Edition and Understanding
Wine Technology. Amazon.com offers these, or IWC can supply you with
a copy of Understanding Wine Technology for an additional materials fee of $30.
Students may also wish to browse the list of recommended
reading for Diploma.
Three
Year Registration:
Students are registered for three years. They may sign-up for any Units and attempt
the various assessments associated with Diploma as many times as necessary
during this registration period. If Diploma studies are not complete within the 3-year
registration period, then students may re-register for an additional 3-year
period. All of your accumulated passes will carry forward after being reviewed
by the WSET.
WSET
Diploma Assessment Preparation Scheme (DAPS):
The mentoring program – now known as DAPS - is administered by the WSET in
London and is an invaluable tool for students. Please see the WSET DAPS Program
FAQ for a full description.
