Charles Antin at DRCNiki Singer Scholarship winner reports on Burgundy
Charles Antin, the recipient of International Wine Center’s 2008 Niki Singer Memorial Scholarship, applied his $2,000 scholarship award to a Burgundy study trip this spring and recently reported back. Antin, a WSET Advanced Certificate holder, is a Junior Specialist in the wine department at Christie’s Auction House. The following is a summation of his trip. Read more.
The city of Bordeaux IWC students experience the real Bordeaux
Three International Wine Center Diploma students participated in WSET®’s Bordeaux Study Tour last month. Eileen LeMonda, Scott Morris and Stephanie McDade (this article’s author) joined 10 other WSET students from around the world in a four-day immersion of the Bordeaux wine region through classes, wine tastings, chateaux visits and a cooperage tour, as well as winemaker lunches and dinners. Sharon Sevrens is the proprietor of Amanti Vino, an artisanal wine shop in Montclair, NJ. Sevrens opened the store in October 2005 and expanded in June 2008 to feature approximately 900 wines. The store also includes a classroom where Sevrens and her staff teach regular wine classes. Read more.
